I’m not ashamed to admit I have a problem….I’m addicted to food blogs, cookbooks and cooking shows. I just love them. The pictures make the food look so good I can practically taste it. My cabinets are stacked with cookbooks, magazines and torn out recipes I’ve been meaning to try. I’ve attempted to organize them, some in binders, some in an accordion folder but to no avail I still have recipes everywhere. I’ll be pulling from these and other resources and sharing the ones that my family liked most.

I’m not formally trained in any manner other than life experience and the occasional cooking class. There are some recipes I’ve been intimidated to try, like making fresh pasta and pie crust from scratch, but I will be venturing into the unknown and will survive to tell you about it. I’m very optimistic! If some of these recipes are outside of your comfort zone, just give it a shot and let me know how it goes. What’s the worst that can happen?

My husband is great about trying the new recipes and my two boys (6 & 4) are usually good eaters; I’m lucky. If the recipe is something I think they just won’t go for, I modify it a bit. I’m not making a different meal for them but I can easily leave a sauce off the noodles, pan fry a piece of chicken instead of giving them Chicken Piccatta and make sure there are plenty of vegetables and/or fruit they can fill up on.

My Mom is Australian, my Dad was from New York and I’ve spent most of life in California. I like everything from Vegemite to Potato Pancakes and greasy Pastrami Sandwiches. Growing up my nickname was Puddin’ because if I didn’t eat my chocolate pudding (still a favorite) then my mom knew I was sick.

Outside of my food world I greatly enjoy family life, skiing and snowboarding, spending time at the beach, playing golf (though it’s really hard to be doing just one thing for four hours), painting, photography and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy gardening, growing fresh vegetables and finding fun crafty ideas online that I’ll do someday with my kids.

I’m a lifelong food lover; exercise and moderation are my friends. I’m excited about this new adventure and look forward to sharing it with you.

Thank you so much to Jenna Denise for the use of her forks photo. You can see more of her work here.
